English Airports for FS98

GB Airports is a long term project to produce the best possible scenery covering the largest airport in Great Britain for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 and in the future Flight Simulator 2000

GB Airports grew from the freeware scenery I did for London Gatwick almost a year ago now. Following on from that project I was frequently asked, "I really liked your Gatwick airport, I don't suppose you are going to design xxxx airport".

My usual reply was that if I had the time, money and information I would love to be able to do that airport, I will let you know if I get a chance to do it.

Well after much research I decided that the best way I could help out would be to produce scenery as shareware. This would allow me to visit the airports, gather the charts, maps, digital camera's, books, scanners, graphics tablets etc, that are needed to do a good job of scenery design and of course to allow me to be independent and therefore more flexible to produce the scenery you want.

So after 6 months of research and design, 16-hour days (yes I have a daytime job as well) I am finally ready to release my first shareware scenery.

Here is a list of the common features in ALL the airports:

Accurate Runways (custom textured with skid marks), Navaids (ILS, DME, VOR, NDB) and Helipads.
All terminals, piers, hangars, cargo buildings, maintenance area, on airport office buildings where visually significant.
All buildings, that should have it, have night lighting. Also Apron flood lighting.
All airports have gate guidance, AGNIS/PAPA, SafeGate, VDGS or Marshaller.
ATIS.
Off airport Visual Reference Points included.
Winter (optional download on registered version only) and Night textured towns and villages that are local to the airports
Scenery is compatible with FS98 (with patch installed). They should all work with the default FS98, Perfect Flight GB, Europe 3 commercial sceneries and UKDT freeware scenery.
Accurate aprons, taxiways, jetways, taxiway lines and lights, including runway lead on/off lines and lights.
Accurate runway Touch Down Zone markings and lights (lights are active runway sensitive).
Hold lines, lights and signs. Also CAT I/II/III approach signs and runway warning lights (WigWags). Also includes terminal/gate lead back signs .
Radio controlled gate refuelling where applicable, fuel pump at other airports.
ILS, rotating and static radar's, VDF, VOR, DME and NDB antenna's
Wind sensitive windsock's (UK type)
Other feature include, airport monorails, local roads (night lit where appropriate), car parks, tree's, railways and lakes.
FS98 Airport Facilities Directory and FS95 and before Go To Entries (for Apron/Gate as well as runway initial locations).
Fully FSTraffic compatible (FSTraffic is a trademark of Lago Publishing)
All airports are up to date and contain features that are accurate the real airports (as of today).
